Most TMD (Temporomandibular Joints Disorders) patients are treated by dentists with mouth guards. However, many patients do not respond. To help these patients, and recognizing that TMD is a joint disorder, Dr. Hatz decided to join forces with internationally renowned Orthopaedic Surgeon Chadwick Prodromos MD to bring the ideal combination of expertise together to tackle this problem. They formed the TMD institute (TMDI) to utilize cutting edge yet proven treatments, for the treatment of TMD.
Dr. Hatz attended the University of Illinois before entering the combined Biology Master's/Doctor of Dental Surgery program at Loyola University of Chicago where she received her DDS degree. After graduation, she was selected into the Dental surgery residency at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center where she also served as Instructor in the Department of Dental Surgery.
